Renewal of Residency

Hi guys, thanks for a great and informative show. I have a Residency Stamp 4 based on IBC05. My stamp will expire in February 2010. I have been checking on the INIS website but there are no renewal forms or information in this regard. Please advise me. Arthur.

Hi Arthur,

If you find you have to renew your residency my advise is to see an immigration solicitor particularly if the forms are not available.

It will be important to set out your history of residency in Ireland, proof that you will make a model citizen (no criminal offences etc) your value to the State and so on.  Any mistakes in the form could lead to rejection and on re-application possibly affect your chances for a successful further re-application. Great attention to detail in needed in this application.

The reason I recommend a specialist emigration solicitor is that he or she will be able to deal with your specific application and gather all the favourable facts on your behalf.

DIL added on the programme– A good source of advice also is the Immigrant Council of Ireland. www.immigrantcouncil.ie
