Cost of making a Will

Is it expensive to write a Will? Cork Listener.

No it’s not. Most Solicitors look on Will making for clients as a specific public service and don’t make profit on the transaction.   This is usually because they are serving existing clients or it is a type of “loss leader” just like a discounted range of items in a supermarket which are sold below cost so as to encourage new clients to come to them.

The cost of a Will would vary according to the complexity of the Estate and the affairs of the client.  Budget €200.00 but ask the cost first.  Most Solicitors will tell you straight up with a simple phone call.  I always recommend that you get the service of a good Solicitor who has experience in Probate and Tax matters.

How do you find a good Solicitor?  You ask a friend who has already made a Will and find out if they were happy with the service.
