Termination of Web Contract

I have been given one month’s notice after 11 months into a Web Contract. The Contract did include a clause that stated that either party could end the Contract within one month’s notice. Is this normal and can the Company do this without paying compensation? Donal (Wicklow)

This is a commercial contract and the answer to this seems simply to be YES - the Company can do this.

Parties to a commercial contract can agree pretty much anything that is not contrary to public policy -  they can agree for the purpose of the contract that the sun will rise in the west and set in the east.

As a result of this I believe that Donal has no comeback but he should examine the fine print in the contract and if in doubt, he should consult his Solicitor.
