Neighbour's Dog's droppings

Hi. Bit of a disgusting one here so sorry, it’s annoying me. If a neighbour’s dog fouls your driveway or garden on a regular basis and you know where the dog lives, are you legally allowed to deposit the crap back to the owner? Adrienne.

Hi Adrienne.  I’m afraid the answer is a bit disgusting as well.  Legally you are not allowed dump the product back in the neighbour’s garden.  But what you can do is wrap it up nicely with a ribbon and hand it to the owner saying “This belongs to your dog”.

A more legal solution would be to knock on the neighbour’s door and explain what has happened and ask that the dog should do his business in your garden no more.  If this doesn't work, then call the dog warden through the County Council and make a formal complaint.  The dog, if it is wandering in the area without an owner or a lead, can be seized by the Council and ultimately destroyed.  That should concentrate the mine of your neighbour.
